Organizational Design and Classification Consultant

The contract period is around 3-4 months
The work location: Most of the time, work from own office, except for having meetings with clients in Ottawa, ON, Canada.
​Security Clearance: Valid Secret (Level II)

Responsibilities  

  • Review relevant documentation and conduct on-site interviews with employees and managers to identify organizational and classification issues
  • Conduct bench marking and/or relativity studies and consult with client’s Accredited Classification Advisors and Manager of Human Resources on organizational design and classification issues;
  • Develop options, advice, and recommendations for managers;
  • Review and evaluate current work descriptions to identify potential for generic work descriptions;
  • Create, draft, write, edit or update work descriptions based on the context of the job for new or existing positions;
  • Prepare generic executive and non-executive level work descriptions;
  • Present information using client’s work description template;
  • Prepare reports, studies presentations and/or present them to the classification committee on classification and organizational design issues,

Requirements​

  • Bachelor degree or above with a major in human resources management or a related field of study
  • Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation or relevant professional designation in human resources
  • 10 years of consultant experiences
  • More than five (5) years of experience in organizational design and classification analysis, and implementation in a Federal Public Service environment
  • The Accreditation in Classification in the Federal Public Service Context is preferred.
  • Excellent report writing skills and presentation skills to provide guidance and advice to management and employees
  • Language(s): Bilingual (English and French) in oral, writing and reading
