Human Resources & Administration Manager

About the client: Established in 2012, the client's product strategy is to steadily introduce a full range of electronics and appliances into the Canadian market. This includes televisions, refrigerators, air-conditioners, dehumidifiers, beverage coolers, freezers, and other home appliances. As an organization in a strong growth mode, they are seeking a talented people person to look after their people!
The
Full-time, Permanent HR & Administration Manager will manage both HR Generalist and Office Administrator roles.
  • Act as a true business partner working with local, regional, and international stakeholders with the goal of driving a clear strategy for people and culture that will drive business success and ensure a great employment experience
  • Participate in Executive Leadership meetings to gain insight in business strategic plans, developing coordinating HR strategies and actions to support the business goals and counsel/ red flag any limits on human capital. 
Compensation: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year with bonus and other perks below:

​Responsibilities  

Human Resources:
  • People Planning - based on business growth projections and budget, work with Headquarters to determine yearly headcount and adapt department structure to account for new staff
  • Full Cycle Recruitment – work with Heads of Departments to develop position profiles, adjust structure and workload if/as necessary, post/qualify/interview, negotiate compensation, hire, on-board and off-board
  • Performance Management – Lead annual review process and incorporate individual feedback to determine annual bonus payments, develop quarterly KPI metrics for all levels of staff
  • Training & Development – Develop program and policy, work with staff to participate in continuous learning courses as per their role and career development plan, advocate for budget to support the program, track outcomes for participants
  • Compensation & Benefits Management – Regular review of full compensation of all staff to ensure dollars are commensurate with roles and responsibilities, audit for bias, implement annual salary increase and other adjustments as required ensuring total rewards are competitive, negotiate with benefits provider on services and costs
  • Employee Relations & Engagement – Provide guidance to employees and leadership regarding people issues; counsel for performance problems, execute twice yearly Employee Survey, assess results, and implement necessary actions to address any company shortcomings
  • Health & Safety – Ensure that the company provides a safe environment in which to work; develop policy and implement all COVID safety protocols for staff including WFH process and schedule
  • Compliance – Keep current with local employment laws and regulations and recommend best practices to main compliance (ESA, WSIB, Canadian Human Rights Code, MOL, etc.
​Office Management
  • Complete oversight of day-to-day functions of the office, working with suppliers and vendors to ensure seamless operations for the staff.
  • Duties performed by Office Administrator.

Requirements​

knowledge
  • University degree in Human Resources Management or related majors, MBA or CHRP designation is an asset;
  • At least 6 years experiences in a HR Generalist's role;
  • Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations and procedures related to Canada Labor Standards and occupational health and safety. 
Competence
  •  Strong leadership skill;
  • Excellent communication skill;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Excellent interpersonal skill and communications skill;
