Cloud Support / DevOps Engineer​

As a result of their recent growth and expansion to the global market, they are hiring Cloud Support / DevOps Engineers for international customers. you are trusted by their clients to respond and resolve their issues quickly, effectively and with a high standard of service. You diligently apply your technical knowledge in Windows and Linux operating platforms, AWS/Azure/Ali cloud, MySQL database and networking connectivity technologies to research and resolve client issues in a timely manner. The work location is Vancouver, BC. 

Responsibilities  

  • Look after customer servers/platform/applications and provide exceptional service and response times, trouble-shooting expertise and apply sound technical knowledge to resolve issues. 
  • Research, collect and analyze data to understand root cause issues and work collaboratively with colleagues, engineers and cross-functional teams as necessary to find the best resolution and path of escalation for client issues. 
  • Provide hands-on support to trouble-shoot and provide preventative maintenance on servers, system back-ups and restores. 
  • Support a 24 by 7 hours environment participating in shift rotation and on-call support schedule to ensure customer platform/application are running smoothly in both peaks and off-peak time. 
  • Continuous learning and development to stay abreast of changing technologies.
  • Participating in training sessions, understanding our products, services and clients, and demonstrating the initiative for self-study and certifications are all essential to the success of this position. ​

Requirements​

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent courses 3 to 5 years demonstrated expertise supporting enterprise-grade technical systems, 
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin,
  • Previous experience in the system integration or technical support role with a broad range of technical knowledge,
  • Understand the need to support customers 24/7 and must be willing to work on-call and shifts on rotation. On-call required on weekends and evenings as per the schedule,
  • Be able to work collaboratively and in a team environment, 
  • Hands-on experience with public and private cloud services (AWS, Azure), proxies, load balancers, and networking devices,
  • Strong understanding of system security and resilience to malicious attacks,
  • Good understanding of network and security concepts (TCP/IP, routing, DNS, VPN, firewalls), 
  • Skilled in Linux server administration (Nginx、Tomcat,Zabbix,Redis) and scripting (i.e. Shell, Python, Ruby, JS, Go) 
  • Windows Server administration (AD DS, AD FS, etc.), 
  • Good understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and ECS is an asset, 
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra) 
  • Experience with performance monitoring and alerting (e.g. CloudWatch, ELK Stack) 
  • Solid understanding of YAML, JSON, XML formats
